Thesis Supervision

Supervision is where research and education meet: guiding students to think independently, question deeply, and connect mathematics to real-world complexity.

Topological Data Analysis (TDA)

Since 2023, my supervision and teaching at Maastricht University have integrated Topological Data Analysis (TDA) into data-driven research on finance, economics and consumer behavior.
The goal is to reveal structural patterns and hidden relationships in time-series and multidimensional data through topology-inspired methods.

Ongoing Directions (General Overview)

Current work explores how persistent homology and topological invariants can enhance the interpretability of financial networks, identify structural transitions in markets, and bridge topology with symbolic representations of economic behavior.
Future plans include developing a lightweight Python package for educational use in Business Analytics courses, aimed at introducing topological methods in an intuitive way.
